…If food, shelter, and clothing are the basics, re: Maslow, it makes sense that they also exist as foundational curiosities about Other People’s Lives (and this is how I justify screenshotting acquaintances’ IG stories to zoom in on a small, background slice of living room—wanting to see your rug game is a simple human need!!!). Recipe porn, perfectly styled home tours, and GRWM/OOTD posts will always be fodder for le masses…but wouldn’t you rather get down and dirty with the logistics? I am dying to know how you organize your refrigerator, and also what state your spice drawer is in. What’s your light bulb schematic and your hanger of choice, what music do you play on a Saturday morning? How do you actually live?…
